Marking up “World Science Day for Peace and Development, 2017″
In keeping with the theme “Science for Global Understanding” Resources Himalayan Foundation (RHF) and Environmental Graduates in Himalaya (EGH)
had organized a discussion programme entitled “Contemporary Issues on Wildlife Research in Nepal” with more than two dozens of Wildlife Biologist of Nepal in one floor on 08 November, 2017.
Mr Dambar Bista, Dr Narayan Koju, Dr Pushparaj Acharya, Mr Prakash Chandra Aryal, Dr Man Kumar Dhamala, Dr Janak Raj Khatiwada, Dr Prem Budha, Ms Tulshi Laxmi Suwal, Mr Dipendra Adhikari and Mr Jeevan Thapa were invited as the speakers where the university students and researchers were the participants. The program started with the welcome note by Mr Saroj Basnet, EGH coordinator. Dr Dinesh Raj Bhuju, Secretary of Resources Himalaya Foundation welcomes all the Wildlife Biologist and highlighted the main theme of conducting this programme among the participants. Prof Dr Tej B Thapa from central Department of Zoology moderates the whole programme. During the programme different research issues in Nepal from their own sectors were discussed among them difficulties in collection of specimen, burden in collection of specimen by DNPWC, Government validation on own research conducted on Wildlife by Nepalese Scientist, Government policy as barrier in opportunity are some of the outcomes discussed in the programme.
The programme ended with the closing remarks and vote of thanks by Dr Dinesh Raj Bhuju, Secretary of Resources Himalaya Foundation.
