Pralad Yonzon Conservation Forum (PYCF) Series LXXXI

For the 81st series of Pralad Yonzon Conservation Forum (PYCF), we had invited Mr. Ram Charitra Sah, Executive Director of Center for Public Health and Environment Development (CEPHED) which conducts environment conservation activities on 1st March 2019. The program started with the welcome note by Ms. Anjana Suwal, EGH coordinator with the brief introduction of the speaker.
Mr. Ram Charitra Sah had his presentation on “Chemical Safety Campaigns for Toxic Free Future”. During the programme Mr. Sah shared his experiences in the sector f chemical safety and the challenges he had faced in the campaigns. In the presentation he had shared about different issues such as hospital waste management, lead in paints, heavy metals in the children toys, use of mercury and lead in cosmetics specially in the lipsticks, whitening cream and ornaments, mercury in the metal plating works and the use of asbestos. Similarly he also shared a good news about the formulation of the standard in the cosmetics products of skin whitening cream, lipsticks, lotions very soon as well as the self declaration and endorsement of the mercury free dental services by different clinics and the hospitals.
The program formally ended by the vote of thanks with a token of appreciation for our guest speaker by Mr. Sandesh Baral, Admin Officer at Resources Himalaya Foundation.
