KNOWLEDGE CAFÉ ON BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION

On 6th January 2017, Resources Himalaya Foundation (RHF) along with Wildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN) had organized ‘A Knowledge Café on Biodiversity Conservation’. The programme was started on a welcome note by Ms Rasmi Kunwar, EGH coordinator and was moderated by Dr Dinesh R Bhuju, General Secretary, RHF. The first presenter was Dr Narendra B Pradhan, CEO, Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN), who elucidated about the survey on the Bengal Florican, its conservation, challenges and opportunities. Dr Mohan Devkota, associate professor, Tribhuvan University who was the second speaker of the day, presented about the Mistletoe and its conservation in Nepal. He notified all the audiences about the ecological importance of mistletoe along with their interdependency with Sun birds. Mr Prasanna Yonzan, CEO, WCN, was the final presenter of the day who talked about protection of wildlife and challenges throughout. The program ended with the closing remarks and vote of thanks by Prof Dr Ram B Chhetri, Chairperson, RHF.
