For the monthly programme “GUFF-GAFF” of May, we had invited a very ambitious and passionate person, Mr Jeevan Rai, Wildlife Research Officer at Friends of Nature Nepal. The program started with the welcome note and brief introduction of the speaker by Ms Bandana Adhikari, EGH Coordinator. Mr Rai shared his experiences and knowledge on the topic entitled “Small Carnivores of Tinjure-Milke-Jaljale, Eastern Nepal”. He started his talk with the introduction of small carnivores and shared experience of his research. He disseminated the procedures of camera trappings for small carnivores and the methods for the survey and shared about the animals that were trapped during his research. He further added the hurdles that every wildlife researcher faces during the research and also described about the excitement of working. He concluded his talk by describing the importance of small carnivores, their role in ecosystem and highlighted the need for more research and conservation.
