11TH ANNUAL SAVE THE FROGS DAY 2019

Environmental Graduates in Himalaya (EGH) has a long tradition of marking important days. This year 11th Annual Save The Frogs Day was marked on 26th April at Central Zoo, Jawalkhel, with the collaboration with SAVE THE FROGS! and NTNC-Zoo and support from Resources Himalaya Foundation (RHF). The main motive of the program was to disseminate the knowledge about the conservation of the frogs for the balanced ecosystem among the school students.  Ms. Bandana Adhikari , former coordinator of EGH and member of SAVE THE FROGS! ) and SAVE THE FROGS! was the event coordinator and supported by volunteers from EGH.

The program started with a welcome note by Ms Bandana Adhikari, and presentation of short video clip about the decline in number of frog’s species. The event was continued with the talk on importance of frogs by Mr. Pramananda Rajbanshi, Caron Nepal and with the presentation on fun facts related to frogs by Mr. Manoj Pokhrel, Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus. After the presentation session the students were asked some few questions regarding the frogs and the winners were awarded. After that movie on frogs were shown where the students were so much excited. For the entertainment purpose the students were given the frog masks and the frog race was conducted. The winners of the frog race were also awarded. After the frog race coloring and frog art was conducted where the students actively participated with their beautiful arts. The origami frogs were made by the students as directed by Ms. Anjana Suwal, EGH coordinator. After all these tasks, 7 beautiful arts were awarded by the founder member of RHF as well as Central Zoo. At last the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Ramji Bogati, Founder member of RHF and Ms. Lina Chalise, Conservation Officer at Zoo. The programme was ended with the lunch.
