Global Tiger Day 2019 was celebrated with a workshop in a theme “Conserving tiger: not number but science” at Conservation Chautari, Resources Hiamlaya Foundation on 2nd August. We invited two guest speakers, Dr. Kanchan Thapa from WWF-Nepal and Dr. Jhamak Bahadur Karki from Kathmandu Forestry College. Both the experts have been working on tiger conservation in Nepal since long time. Dr. Karki shared field techniques generally adopted to conduct tiger survey in Nepal through his talk. Dr. Thapa gave a presentation focusing on the science behind the tiger conservation. Dr. Tej Bahadur Thapa from Tribhuvan University concluded the workshop with token of love and vote of thanks to both speakers. About 60 participants from different institutions were present at the workshop.
