For the monthly programme “GUFF-GAFF” of June, we had invited a very energetic and dedicated person, Mr Bimal Raj Shrestha, Researcher. The program started with the welcome note and brief introduction of the speaker by Ms Bandana Adhikari, EGH Coordinator. Mr Shrestha shared his experience and knowledge related to butterflies of Nepal. He started his talk by sharing the memories of his research field visit among the university graduates. He highlighted the relationship between butterflies and plants and role of butterflies in providing the ecosystem services. He emphasized the methods for conducting the survey of butterflies according to the geographical location and also discussed about the parental care of butterflies. Along with this, he highlighted the threats butterflies of Nepal are facing and issues in its conservation. Overall, he focused on the conservation and protection of butterflies and its habitat in Nepal.
